The Nevis Ceilidh Band are one of Scotland’s finest ceilidh bands featuring three professional musicians including alumni’s of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Each member of the band brings a wealth of experience performing professionally for Weddings, Functions, Corporate Events and Special Occasions. Together, they demonstrate natural charisma and a powerful on stage performance.
Aileen
Aileen is a freelance musician with a varied career as a performing musician, composer and podcaster which takes her across Scotland and the rest of the UK. A graduate of The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Aileen obtained a first class Undergraduate degree in performance and a Masters degree in composition. Since graduating, Aileen has played at the festivals, weddings and events in a countless venues from Glasgow to Switzerland to Norway and anywhere in between!
Ellen
Ellen’s our fiddle player from the North East of Scotland. She developed her skills on both fiddle and piano, inspired by her well-known tutors from the area of Moray, James Alexander MBE, and Marjorie Park. Through her teenage years, Ellen was performing regularly as a member of the Fochabers Fiddlers with whom she performed at a variety of venues including the Royal Albert Hall on two separate occasions. She then went on to study at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where she graduated with a BEd Music with honours in 2016. Throughout her student years, her performing and arranging skills continued to evolve influenced by some of Scotland’s leading traditional musicians and tutors, such as, Alistair McCulloch, Marie Fielding and James Ross. She is also a co - producer of a series of charity concerts, incorporating some of the finest musicians from the Guildhall School of Music in London.
Gavin
Gavin Paterson is a recording engineer and musician based in Glasgow, Scotland. Gavin built his own studio 2012 and now runs his own studio business called Studio 1790 which is based near Cumbernauld. Gavin is an accomplished drummer who has performed in different function bands for several years and now performs across the country with his new folk band Eriska.
